Approved Bone Results April 08

05.05.08 - The Bone Group, one of the UK’s leading steel fabrication and construction companies, has announced its trading results for the year to October 2007.
The highlights are:-
Profit before tax and exceptionals of £352,000
Borrowings reduced by £1.5M
Resolution of historical issues almost complete
Good recent contract wins
New appointments to management team

Glasgow wins race for 2014 Games

09.11.07 - Glasgow has been chosen to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games after a two year bid, supported by Bone Steel.
There were celebrations in the Scottish city as the decision of the 71 voting nations was announced in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Glasgow had been competing against Nigerian capital Abuja for the right to host the games.

World Steel Demand Continues to Grow

30.10.07 - The International Iron and Steel Institute (IISI) forecasts 2007 will be another strong year for the steel industry with apparent steel use rising from 1,120.9 mmt in 2006 to 1,197.6 mmt in 2007, an increase of 6.8%. Latest projections for 2008 suggest a similar global growth rate to this year at 6.8%. These figures represent an upward percentage point revision of 0.9 for 2007 and 0.7 for 2008 over the March forecast.
China's apparent steel use is expected to grow by 11.4% in 2007 and 11.5% in 2008, accounting for 35% of the world total.
In the EU, the growth in steel demand supported by healthy developments in Germany is mitigated by adjustments in the inventory positions, leading to a growth of 4% in 2007 and 1.4% in 2008.

Hogmaneigh in Prestigious Paris Sprint

04.10.07 - Hogmaneigh will be running in the prestigious Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp in Paris this weekend as he looks to end his season on a high.
The Bone Steel sponsored sprinter will have the hugely experienced Jimmy Fortune on his back for the race, which will be shown live in the UK on BBC 2 this Sunday afternoon from 1pm.
Trainer Stuart Williams told hogmaneigh.com today,“Hoggy is in great form and the going should be in his favour. He’ll be a long shot for the race but I think we have a chance if we get a low draw”.
Last year’s race was won by Dessert Lord who like Hogmaneigh also won the previous Vodafone Dash at Epsom.
